Live at 3pm on December 6th.

GAIN Power is hosting Reggie Hubbard to discuss the importance of rest and recovery to the life of an activist and campaign staffer.

Political practitioners are frequently overworked and neglect taking care of themselves during campaigns – and after like now. At GAIN Power – we want to center including programs that not only permit Democratic and Progressive professionals to take time for meditation, yoga, and other physical exercises and practices – but prioritize it as part of professional development. This session is an integral part of this commitment. We are honored to be joined by Reggie Hubbard – who we think is the most impactful Democracy Yogi in our progressive movement. We’ll discuss how and why practicing some form of self-care is essential for movement leaders, and Reggie will also lead a meditative practice.

About Reggie Hubbard

Reggie is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and the founder/chief serving officer of Active Peace Yoga. Through Active Peace Yoga, he offers asana and meditation classes to help others nurture peace of mind, creativity, and equanimity in spirit, and physical health – helping people nurture well-being as foundational rather than an afterthought. Reggie has taught Members of Congress, Congressional Staff, leading progressive organizations and individuals from all walks of life – simple tools for managing stress and bringing peace to mind body and spirit. Reggie has held many senior strategic and logistical roles across a variety of fields, ranging from global marketing, digital and community organizing, government relations, and international education to Presidential campaigning and political strategy. Reggie’s life work sits at the intersection of bringing more peace and balance to activists, guiding the wellness community toward being more engaged, concerned citizens and enhancing the well-being of all walks of life. Achieving this balance is how we catalyze transformative change in our society, which we desperately need now.
