| Bio | My mom had been volunteering as an election judge for St. Mary’s County, MD, and I decided to do it with her. I almost always vote, except for in the 2016 election. Once I realized how things were going in this country since that election, I decided I needed to do more than vote. I had moved to Las Vegas in 2020, and I ended up as a Deputy Campus Coordinator at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for NV Dems leading up to the election that year. In 2022 I canvassed with The Outreach Team. |
| Impact | As Deputy Campus Coordinator for NV Dems, I was a major source of motivation for our team. My passion for working towards our collective goal, as well as my unrelenting optimism, helped me to be more confident and encouraging to the team. I was dreading having to approach strangers. But once I got out there, I was more focused on trying to inform people of their voting options than I was on my discomfort. In Las Vegas it is still pretty warm in the fall, and we were tabling through all of it. If a team member was getting sluggish, I would ask them if they wanted to go for a walk with me to see if we can find more voters to talk to. |
| Mission | I am very passionate about preserving reproductive rights. I would love to help make an impact on legislation protecting women’s right to choose. Long term, I would like to promote political education and awareness so that more people get out and vote as well as making the best possible choices for themselves. |
