Bio

Jason Carson Wilson began his journey in the progressive political space as a faith-based advocate for the United Church of Christ’s Washington, D.C. Office, serving as the Justice & Peace Policy Fellow. Wilson founded the Bayard Rustin Liberation Initiative, an organization focused on Black & LGBTQIA+ advocacy. He’s served as the Community Renewal Society’s Bayard Rustin Fellow, where he created its LGBTQIA+ issue area.

Impact

Jason Carson Wilson and the Bayard Rustin Liberation Initiative (BRLI) collaborated to move the Equality Act through the U.S. Congress in 2019 and 2020. Wilson and BRLI collaborated to force the Family to reconfigure the National Prayer Breakfast.

Mission

I’ve got a passion and desire to fight anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and sentiment being stoked throughout the nation as well as protecting the right to vote for all Americans. As a faith leader, I’m also passionate about keeping Church and State separate.
