I don't recognize my country anymore and strongly desire to be a part of the solution.

Bio

I was inspired by President Obama and became involved in progressive politics as a volunteer door-knocking for candidates I believed in.  I then became a Precinct Chair and found I really loved making a positive change in people’s lives at the political level and made it a career.  I enjoyed visiting 1/1 with constituents and listening compassionately to their challenges.

Over the course of the past 13 years in my capacity as a Campaign Field Director, Campaign Regional Field Director (14 states), and Non-Profit Program Manager, I have mastered skills that allow me to develop methodical, well-structured, comprehensive, and prosperous programs. Developing and possessing the skills necessary to produce prosperous programs has given me real-life, on-the-ground experiences to leverage when developing programs/projects. The ability to wear many “hats”, multitask, self-evaluate, and meet goals in an extremely fast-paced environment certainly supports and drives productivity.

Impact

As a Field Director, my greatest impact has been bringing people together to deliver a common goal. It’s important to me to produce a culture of inclusivity.  It builds a buy-in for my team and they feel valued and respected.

Big job?

-150 canvasser project for the re-election of President Obama in Miami-Dade County was certainly my largest and proudest paid canvassing team.  Together with other like-minded organizations, we delivered Miami Dade County to President Obama with a 62% victory. Ultimately delivering Florida to Obama.

The 2020 Presidential election during the height of COVID was quite a challenge. Developing new strategies and protocols where canvassers and constituents were safe, developing new pipelines for recruitment, interviews, onboarding, training, retention, and attempting to create a culture all produced challenges but with long hours of planning and determination, my team and I played a part in delivering Broward County to President Joe Biden with a 64.6% victory.

Mission

I have made a personal commitment to myself to dedicate the next several years of my career to contributing my experience and skill set to support serving the underserved, marginalized communities and addressing social disparities and injustices through campaigns in the political sector.
