| Bio | I first became involved in politics as a volunteer organizer for Howard Dean’s primary in 2003. I then volunteered for the Kerry/Edwards campaign in 2004, several local campaigns, and then for Obama in 2008 and 2012. I also served as the Cleveland County Coordinator while doing a graduate internship with Andrew Rice’s U.S. Senate campaign against Jim Inhofe in 2008. In this role I managed over 400 volunteers in areas of canvassing, visibility, phone banking, voter registration, and more. Most recently, I have volunteered as a text organizer with Nina Turner’s primary campaign in OH 11. |
| Impact | I thoroughly enjoy a challenge and loved orchestrating events, rallies, parade presence, visibility, voter registration, canvassing, and phone banking for over 400 volunteers during Andrew Rice’s U.S. Senate campaign in 2008. My role as the county coordinator of one of Oklahoma’s most populous counties was one of the joys of my life in spite of our not winning the election. I was able to connect with local leaders and grassroots organizers from a variety of backgrounds, community groups, and activist causes. It really cemented my future aspirations, such as completing my Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management. Now I’m ready to do more! |
| Mission | I ultimately hope to have a full-time career in the progressive movement, whether that is on in the campaign realm, in a non-profit, working for a PAC, or being part of an advocacy organization. My goal in life is to live with radical empathy, furthering areas of deep connection, mutual aid, inclusiveness, and racial, environmental, social, and economic justice. |
