Bio |
My involvement in progressive politics began in 2017 when I joined the Jon Ossoff campaign for the Flip the 6 race in Georgia as a paid canvasser. This initial experience ignited my passion for grassroots organizing and demonstrated the power of community engagement in driving political change. It was here that I first understood the importance of mobilizing voters and advocating for issues that directly impact marginalized communities. Following my work with Ossoff, I interned on the Stacey Abrams campaign, where I advanced to the position of Field Organizer in Columbus, Georgia. In this role, I managed a team of 25-30 canvassers, overseeing daily outreach efforts that engaged approximately 11,960 households throughout the campaign. This experience solidified my commitment to empowering communities and highlighted the impact of effective organizing techniques, such as relationship-building and active listening. My journey continued as I established a political rapport with State Representative Carolyn Hugley, which led to my role as her Legislative Aide during the Georgia legislative session. This position deepened my understanding of the political landscape and the significance of grassroots mobilization in shaping policy. I was inspired by Rep. Hugley’s dedication to social justice and constituent advocacy, which reinforced my desire to work towards systemic change. In 2019, I pursued certification through the Black Campaign School to enhance my expertise in campaign management and voter outreach. That same year, I contributed to the Kamala Harris for the People campaign in South Carolina, where I engaged with 350 households weekly and made approximately 36,000 calls over the campaign duration, further honing my skills in outreach and community engagement. My subsequent role as a Campaign Coordinator with the Democratic Party of Georgia allowed me to play a pivotal part in efforts to flip the state house, collaborating with candidates to build robust grassroots campaigns and enhance voter turnout. I later worked as an independent contractor with New Ground Strategies, focusing on voter registration in historically significant regions, particularly during the runoff elections for Jon Ossoff and Rev. Warnock. Most recently, I served as Regional Organizing Director for the Coordinating Campaign, where I managed multiple key regions and led a team of over 30 organizers and canvassers. Through these experiences, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of progressive politics and the importance of grassroots mobilization in effecting meaningful change. My journey has been driven by a commitment to advocating for social justice and empowering marginalized communities to have their voices heard in the political process.

Impact | Throughout my career in progressive politics, I have made a significant impact through grassroots organizing, strategic outreach, and leadership roles that prioritize community empowerment and social justice. One of my notable contributions was during my time as a Field Organizer on the Stacey Abrams campaign. In this role, I managed a team of 25-30 canvassers, implementing a targeted outreach strategy that engaged over 11,960 households throughout the campaign. This experience taught me the importance of relationship-building and active listening in organizing. I encouraged my team to adopt a “listening first” approach, allowing us to understand the unique concerns of community members before discussing campaign messages. This technique not only fostered trust but also increased voter engagement and turnout. Additionally, my role as a Campaign Coordinator with the Democratic Party of Georgia allowed me to play a pivotal part in mobilizing efforts to flip the state house. I developed outreach initiatives that directly connected with voters in historically underrepresented areas, utilizing data-driven strategies to prioritize engagement with these communities. My efforts contributed to a significant increase in voter turnout, demonstrating the effectiveness of targeted grassroots organizing. As a Regional Organizing Director for the Coordinating Campaign, I oversaw multiple key regions, managing field offices and orchestrating grassroots initiatives. I led a team of over 30 organizers and canvassers, successfully mobilizing thousands of voters through a combination of door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and community events. This experience further solidified my understanding of the systemic barriers faced by our communities and the need for innovative organizing techniques that resonate with diverse populations. Moreover, my work as an independent contractor with New Ground Strategies focused on voter registration in areas historically significant to the civil rights movement. During the runoff elections for Jon Ossoff and Rev. Warnock, I continued this vital work, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing voters in communities impacted by voter suppression. Overall, my impact on progressive politics has been characterized by a commitment to innovative organizing techniques, strategic outreach, and a focus on empowering marginalized communities. I am dedicated to fostering a more inclusive political landscape and ensuring that the voices of those most affected by systemic inequalities are heard and represented.
Additionally, I led a team of over 30 organizers and canvassers, providing them with training in transformative organizing techniques that emphasized relationship-building and community empowerment. I encouraged my team to adopt a “listening first” approach, where they engaged with voters to understand their needs and priorities before discussing campaign messages. This technique not only increased voter engagement but also cultivated a sense of ownership among community members regarding the political process. Another impactful experience was my role as a Campaign Coordinator with the Democratic Party of Georgia, where I played a crucial part in mobilizing efforts to flip the state house. I developed and executed outreach initiatives that engaged thousands of voters, utilizing data-driven strategies to identify and prioritize key demographics. By leveraging community partnerships and organizing events that resonated with local issues, we successfully increased voter turnout in historically underrepresented areas. Through these experiences, I have demonstrated a commitment to advancing progressive politics by fostering grassroots engagement, building coalitions, and implementing innovative organizing techniques that empower communities to advocate for their needs. My focus on relationship-building and community-driven strategies has not only led to successful campaigns but has also contributed to a more inclusive political landscape.
