I just got an HR certification last month…I’ve been in HR and operations for years, but never felt like I necessarily needed the certification. Still don’t, but figured that it couldn’t hurt and it wasn’t terribly expensive. What it did for me was help me remember some things I forgot and give me some ideas for wherever I land next. Has it help me in landing a new job? I’ve been certified for 5 weeks now and have been unemployed since January. *shrugs* But maybe that certification will ultimately cinch a job for me?

I would say a project management cert certainly can’t hurt, but I would consider its overall value to you personally.
