      Newspaper Outreach Associate, August 2020 – November 2020   

      ·       Oversaw the campaign’s editorial program, providing counsel to the Director of Constituent Services, communications staff and the political team to identify and engage supporters interested in writing op-eds or letters to the editor for outlets across the state.

      ·       Relayed communications with staff and volunteers, conducted interviews, and directly supervised the drafting of pieces for publication – with at least 30 items or more excluding others completed through grassroots dissemination.

      ·       Ensured the proper submission of work and built relationships with outlets’ editorial staffs, while maintaining records of all pieces submitted.

      Nashman Center for Civic Engagement & Public Service

      Program Assistant, January 2020 – August 2020   

      ·       Supervised the GW Votes Initiative, a nonpartisan coalition of students, faculty, and staff aiming to increase the number of registered voters campus-wide.

      ·       Allocated resources through university databases (TurboVote, GivePulse), created standardized engagement toolkits and voter education curriculum, recruited and supervised program ambassadors, and guided presentations in an effort to target potential voters.

      ·       Staged events and annually convened the University’s task force designed to engage stakeholders on issues related to the initiative’s performance.

      Offices of Assistant Democratic Leader Clyburn and Congressman Beyer

      Congressional Intern, June 2018, August 2018 – September 2019, December 2019   

      ·       Worked on behalf of the Senior Legislative Assistant(s) in each office – assisting with tracking movements and research, attending and compiling briefings, taking stakeholder meetings, and other tasks as assigned (guiding tours, servicing phones, etc.).

      ·       Assisted the Communications Director in Leader Clyburn’s office with newsletters and correspondence on the Congressman’s behalf, and the Chief of Staff with special projects as assigned.

      ·       Supported the Deputy Chiefs of Staff and Schedulers in organizing the members’ calendars and accepting/declining invitations, remaining involved by providing on-site assistance (set-up, photography, wayfinding, etc.).

      Office of the Judge/Executive, Woodford County Fiscal Court

      Staff Assistant, May 2019 – August 2019

      ·       Assigned to the office with a focus on the governance of the county’s three cities and its Fiscal Court.

      ·       Worked alongside the county’s executive team on critical projects including a countywide energy cost efficiency audit and the creation of the County’s Opioid Task Force, while directly managing the office’s first corps of interns and assisting in the implementation of a new countywide employee health insurance program.

      ·       Routinely addressed constituent concerns, coordinated public events/appearances, worked with local governments and press outlets to schedule time with the office, and re-structured the office suite during an ongoing staff transition.  

      Edelen-Holland for Kentucky

      Field and Events Team, January 2019 – May 2019

      ·       Worked alongside the Statewide Field Director and senior staff to coordinate events and direct voter contact on behalf of the ticket.

      ·       Aided in organizing a grassroots operation that contacted more than 4,000 voters on the ground, and around 6,000 through call-time in the final two weeks of GOTV in Fayette county alone. The division covered the entirety of the 6th Congressional District by the end of the Primary.  

      ·       Organized multiple campus-based events and youth initiatives with the 6th District Director and the campaign’s Finance Department.

      Amy McGrath for congress, KY 6th

      Deputy Field Organizer, September 2018 – November 2018

      ·       Organized youth/collegiate recruitment in Central KY. Worked primarily at the Fayette County DCCC and Woodford County Campaign Offices.

      ·       Active in direct voter contact and in the recruitment of over 50 volunteers. Supported Field Organizers with establishing staging locations, canvassing launches, and organizing events county-wide through confirmation calls and direct messaging.  

      ·       Routinely exceeded a target of 300-500 doors per week, sent thousands of messages (via Hustle software) and dialed on behalf of the candidate.

      Office of State Representative James L. Kay II (D, 56)

      Legislative Research Commission Intern, January 2018 – May 2018

      ·       Assigned to the Representative and tasked with assisting LRC staff on matters of constituent correspondence and with capitol visitors.

      ·       Tracked and conducted research on legislative measures, providing briefings and counsel on a range of policy issues focused on transportation, labor (specifically public pensions), and agriculture.

      ·       Provided presentation materials including outlines for committee and floor speeches, remarks for press conferences, visitor introductions, and for the commemoration of holidays.

      New Kentucky Project, Smith Strategies L.L.C.

      Staff Intern, August 2017 – December 2017

      ·       Researched issues expected to be taken up in the KYGA’s 2018 session, producing briefing materials used by the Principal Strategist and clients.

      ·       Assisted with numerous fundraisers (set-up, registration, handling donor information, etc.), including events for the Joe Cunningham campaign for Congress (SC-01).

      ·       Organized a mass donor list for a local PVA candidate in Fayette County, creating and condensing a listing of roughly 150 consistent donors. Â
