Bio |
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan. During college, I interned with the Michigan Women’s Commission, various electoral campaigns, and for the Lt. Governor of Michigan, Garlin Gilchrist. I worked at the Patriotic Millionaires as a Junior Associate, where I was promoted to Special Assistant to the President, working to raise the federal minimum wage floor and a multi-organizational campaign for an international wealth tax. In 2021, I became a Truman Scholar and received the Rosalie Ginsberg Dedicated Community Service Award. In 2022, I received the MLK Spirit Award and the William Jennings Bryan Leadership award, the highest honor a graduating senior studying political science at the University of Michigan can receive. In the fall of 2022, I was nominated for the James T. Neubacher Award Award. After graduating, I returned to the Patriotic Millionaires to launch the Great Economy Project, aimed at going into conservative areas of swing states and conducting programming that involved focus groups and deep canvas methods in discussing economic issues with working-class people. In the summer of 2022, I started working with the SuperMajority Pennsylvania team as a community organizer operating mass phone banking operations and community outreach. |
Impact | On campus, I was the Vice President of MCASP, helping create fully funded childcare spots for high-need student parents in the University of Michigan on-campus daycare. In 2022, our organization helped open an on-campus room for students, faculty, and staff that was child friendly in the library. I worked closely with unions, faculty, and the regents to adopt a tri-share model of childcare benefits that allows the state, the university, and the parents to split the cost of childcare. I founded Voters Wallet, a political donation pooling platform and candidate mapping tool, in 2022. I previously founded BirthSafe.org, a maternal health-specific review website. In September 2020, my group, Hungry For Justice MI, got SB 1006 passed, which removed the felony ban for SNAP in Michigan and helped create phone and online ordering for food stamp users. |
