Hello! My name is Rebecca Johnson and I’ve been using JobsthatareLEFT for years! So thank you so much for that. I’ve found a lot of work on it in the past and I’m sure it will prove to be useful again! I just finished up working for Progressive Turnout Project for the presidential cycle this year so I’m on the hunt again! Thank you for all the work that you do.

My name is Megan Knox, and I am a former nonprofit executive and skilled people and project manager with experience in capacity building, strategic communications, fundraising, and partnership development. I believe that everyone deserves to live a healthy and dignified life, and I would love the opportunity to enter the political sphere where I can help advance these ideals. Hello, I’m Eliot Kemper, a recent graduate of ASU’s Science and Technology Policy Master’s program. I’ve already worked with a few think tanks and research groups, but I’m really looking to get a remote job that directly forwards a progressive agenda to help people. I’m glad I found JTAL, and I’m happy to have met all of you.

Hello All! Hoping that everyone is enjoying their post election time. I have used JTAL for years and I have served a variety of capacities such as canvasser, recruiter, field director, office manager and state director for progressive causes and candidates. More recently I have been acting in more of a consulting role, supporting lower level candidates get proper digital representation, so if your candidate needs help with a website or how to get the most from social media I would be happy to chat! Looking forward to the growth of this awesome community.

Hello All, just wrapping up another legislative campaign here in Washington State. I have spent the last 6 years here running campaigns at every level from school board to Congress. I was in the Army for 8 years before that. I have had both successes and disappointments, but I have learned from both. A few races I am proud of are getting an ecologist elected to the Tumwater City Council with the most votes ever for a candidate in Tumwater, turning a -14 point legislative district into a 2 point swing district in 2018 and 2020, and getting a person of Middle Eastern descent elected to school board director in a +8 Trump district. While I am willing to take on campaigns in any district, and have consistently made tough districts competitive, my hope is to put my qualifications and experience to use in an official capacity. I have a Master of Professional Studies in Political Management from GWU and 6 years of professional experience in politics. I look forward to great connections and conversations. Happy to get to know everyone.

Hi everyone! I’m Hillary (she/her pronouns), and I just finished a year working for the NYC Census 2020 initiative as a Community Grants Manager, essentially serving as a liaison between the city government and a group of community orgs and institutions to support each other in increasing self-response rates in historically undercounted communities. Before that I finished my Masters of Social Work degree, and have a background in disability and special needs, as well as some research and program coordination.

I’m interested in civic engagement/education, democracy reform, universal healthcare, economic justice, etc. and am looking for a more permanent role (not cycle-based). I’m primarily looking for remote work, but am based in the NY/NJ area.

    Excited to be here!

I’m Caroline. I’ve worked in politics for the last decade, mostly in field. I prefer the operations side of campaigns (I’ve thrived as a canvass director) and run an Etsy store on the side. With Wednesday’s events, I’m genuinely scared for the future of this country.

    Hello everyone,

My name is Spencer DeMink (he/him) and I am a senior political science major at Georgia Southern University. I am fairly new to JTAL but I am quite glad that I was introduced to it, and look forward to opportunities to come. Currently, I am a post-seat holder for the Chatham County Democratic Committee, I canvassed with the Progressive Turnout Project for the presidential election as well as the GA runoffs, and back in 2018, I interned for the Stacey Abrams for Governor Campaign. I also served for a long stretch as an executive within Student Government on campus.

Glad places like this exist and it’s nice to meet you all

My name is Raime She/hers. I’m in Texas trying like heck to turn Texas blue!! I started in 2015 handing out voter registration cards to strangers. Then I had the opportunity to volunteer for Beto as a pop-up shop manager, phone banking & canvassing. I’ve been looking for a way my whole life to bring equity, & inclusion to all. I found my passion in politics where I could use my privilege to amplify the voices of those underserved.

I’m also all about saving the planet for my grandchildren. They didn’t ask us to ruin our planet, & I always leave places better than I found them, or at least I try to!

I’m an organizer at heart but have trained & worked as an Organizing Director. I’m also willing to relocate. Nice to meet all of you!!

Hi, I’m Leah (pronounced LAY-ah). I’m a communications consultant working with mission-driven organizations and progressive candidates and causes. I have 20 years of experience in nonprofit and political communications, and have worked on local, statewide, and national campaigns doing everything from field to fundraising to serving as the Communications Director. I’m eager to support women and minority candidates, as well as issue-based campaigns promoting social justice. I have particular expertise in strategy development and cross-channel communications (using email, social, PR, events, direct mail, advertising, etc. to reach people where they are and drive recognition and engagement), and I’m a killer writer.

Looking forward to meeting y’all, and sharing opportunities and insights with each other!

Hi! I’m Ali, I just wrapped up the 2020 election cycle as a Digital Organizer for the progressive advocacy organization Stand Up America. Before that, I was a Field Organizer for the Elizabeth Warren presidential campaign. Like many of you, I am now on the hunt for my next righteous fight! I’ve also worked as a Park Ranger (Zion National Park) and as an organizer for Conservation Voters for Idaho. Public lands, environmental justice, transportation & housing are my passion-issues. I’m so grateful for GainPower and Jobs that are Left in providing career advice & networking opportunities, look forward to connecting!
