I was wondering if anyone might have advice on breaking into progressive circles during the pandemic, which certainly has limited my ability to network in D.C. I quit my job after more than four years of government relations work in a corporate law firm at the end of February with the goal of working for a labor union, a progressive lawmaker, or another left-of-center progressive organization. As you might imagine, the pandemic greatly reduced the number of open positions and I have been unemployed ever since. It would be great to get any advice on how I might be more proactive in my pursuit of a career.

    Dear Mr. Otsuki:

As you might imagine, I am in a similar boat. I just finished working on a winning, moderate down-ballot campaign back home in Kansas. I would say try to leverage your connections and skills. Have you tried the Progressive Talent Pipeline https://progressivetalentpipeline.applytojob.com/apply/ea8DLnHymX/Progressive-Talent-Pipeline-Application?

    Sincerely,

      Mr. Golden,

Thank you so much, I had not seen this before.

      Best,

      John
